SYMBOLS OF PROTECTION

Art by Ivana Axman

Have you found yourself in an uncomfortable situation, or with a person who has been trying to push your boundaries? The Priestess of Protection is here to help you protect yourself, your loved ones or your home from something or someone.

No matter what has caused your need for protection, you can energetically arm yourself and bounce away whatever negativity has been or is being sent to you. Trust your intuition and avoid anything that feels odd, unjust or wrong.

This priestess holds a very powerful symbol of protection. It’s a Viking bind rune called the Aegishjalmur (Helm of Awe). Try working with it by either imagining or drawing it. It’s beneficial to have a paper or a talisman with this symbol inscribed on it.
You may decorate your home and vehicle with it, keep it with you when you travel, or give it to your loved ones who need protecting. Additionally, you may want to try working with white, blue or purple colours.

Highly protective deities who could help you in this regard are Ganesh, archangels Michael, Azrael and Metatron, the gods Perun and Thor, the goddess Guan Yin, and many more including your spirit guides.

THE PRIESTESS OF PROTECTION RITUAL

For this ritual, you’ll need a peaceful, quiet place, a pen and a piece of paper. Firstly, draw the Aegishjalmur symbol on the paper:

While holding the paper with the inscribed symbol, close your eyes and imagine the symbol expanding from your heart and surrounding you like a protective armour that bounces away all negativity. Then, utter either in your mind or aloud:

“I, (your name), call upon you, (the name of the deity or deities you want to work with), and ask you to protect me from the following: the harmful thoughts of other people or my own, harmful emotions of other people or my own, harmful situations, entities, people or thought-forms.
With your assistance, I now place the protective symbol of Aegishjalmur in my spiritual, mental and physical bodies.
May this mighty symbol arm me and protect me from all negativity.
May it also arm and protect my loved ones and my current location from all negativity. We are safe and protected now.
Please, (the name of the deity or deities you want to work with), give me warning signs and messages regarding people, places or situations that I should avoid in the future.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

Keep the paper with the inscribed Aegishjalmur symbol with you for as long as you like, and place it under your pillow at night. Anytime you need protection, use your imagination to draw the Aegishjalmur shield around yourself, another person or a place. For an even more powerful effect, imagine it in tones of white, blue or purple.
