PRIESTESS OF THE EARTH ELEMENT



The Priestess of the Earth Element helps with grounding and a connection to the earth.
Perhaps you have been consumed by your thoughts too much and have forgotten to focus on your body? Have you been worrying about something and have forgotten about a healthy diet and exercise? Or have you, on the other hand, been too focused on how you look, what you are eating or anxious about your health? Maybe you need grounding in that regard instead.

Either way, the Priestess of the Earth Element can help you to connect with nature and its power. It’s time for a walk, a hike or any kind of calm, relaxing, outdoors activity. It would be ideal to walk barefoot in the grass, sit under a tree or relax next to nearby rocks or stones – anything that makes your body grounded. Try to connect with Mother Earth in order to forget about your worries and troubles for a while. Allow yourself to just be.

The symbols that help with grounding are a square, a cross, a cube and runes such as Berkana, Wunjo and Tiwaz. Earthly colours will help you as well, and anything natural such as stones, crystals, flowers, herbs or plants.
Try calling upon deities who are attuned to the earth element such as the goddesses Demeter and Tashi Tseringma, the gods Cernunnos, Veles and Dagda, and other natural deities such as the nymphs, dryads, fauns, Pan or Faun and Fauna, Mother Earth Gaia etc.


THE PRIESTESS OF THE EARTH ELEMENT RITUAL


Ideally, perform this ritual when the moon is in an earth sign such as Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn. It’s also good to be outside when performing this ritual, but if the weather is not benevolent, find a piece of nature to work with – a simple natural object such as a stone, a branch, a flower or a conifer cone will do.

You‘ll also need a pen and two pieces of paper. On the first piece of paper, draw the following symbols (the crossed triangle pointing down, which is the alchemical symbol for the earth element, and the Wheel of Life symbols):




When you are feeling relaxed, close your eyes and try to focus on your body. Ask the body what it lacks or needs. The answers should come in the form of thoughts, images, memories or even smells and music.
Everything is important, so note it down on the second piece of paper. Then pronounce either in your mind or aloud:

“I, (your name), am ready to attune to Mother Earth and her guidance. Please, (the name of the deity or deities you want to work with), help me connect with the earth element.
Help me ground myself, and help me harmonise my body and spirit with the power of the material world. Please give me guidance on how to improve my physical life now.”

Imagine that your mind is just an empty sheet of paper. Visualise the symbols of the earth element you have drawn before. Now concentrate on your thoughts. What comes to your mind? Everything is important. Note it down for further consideration. When you feel ready, continue pronouncing:

“Please, (the name of the deity or deities you want to work with), keep giving me further guidance regarding my physical wellbeing. Give me signs about what kind of diet or exercise is beneficial for me during this time of my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
